Is a copy of a will valid?

Both my parents recently passed away in a car accident. My father shortly before his death mentioned to me that... they recently had a new joint will drawn up. I’ve searched everywhere for the will and can only locate a copy of the signed will. Even their attorney does not have the original will. Can this copy be accepted as the valid will of my parents?

We have entered the month of October in what has become Wills-month primarily due to the Legal Practice Council’s Wills-week ... from 26 to 30 October 2020.    The drafting of wills has unfortunately become a notarial hobby with Tom, Dick and Harry proclaiming to be experts therein. The result has been a drive towards mass production of a one-size-fits-all solution. In the process various planning and legal tools have fallen into disuse whereby the testator and the beneficiaries do not maximize their benefit from a carefully considered, bespoke last will and testament. There are experts at your disposal in different sectors of the services industry, choose wisely, because one size does not fit all.
